Happy Release Your Game Month! RMZ got things off to a good start with his OHR World release. Lots of other people have promised us a good showing. I have a surprise or two forthcoming myself.
As for REWARDS and PRIZES, Fenrir has agreed to come up with a little something. Where is that guy..? _________________

Hopefully he's finishing the prize I won back in like 2005, haha. In all seriousness, that prize is going to be amazing when it's done.
I think I have maybe one more project I can release for Release Your Game Month.
And graphics for a *cough* secret *cough* project. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Oh yeah! I forgot about that contest. I still might enter if I get a good idea in time.
For the curious, we've had three releases so far this month: OHR World, OHR House 2 Final Week, and the new Stenmele Osmium demo. _________________

*COUGH*
I'm pretty sure this is the error-ridden version, but the only reason it's being released NOW is to try and squelch some of those terrible engine breaking bugs. |

I had a sweet sweet idea for the dating simulation game, but I'm scared to download the new OHR. I hear it's all...windows-y. I'm not a bad enough dude to learn a new OHR. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Funny thing. Before july I've bene working on a website called IndyOHR and I was gonna have a "national OHR Month." I was planning on havign soem kind of voting at the end and having page on the site dedicated to the winners (a hall of fame of sorts)...Now theMoog actually beat me to the punch I figure theres no harm in just attaching my hall of fame idea to the "release your game' idea. How the voting and whatnot will work I haven't quite figured yet...But everyone get to releasing your games! The nightlies these days are actually stable-er than they used to be. Even my eternal problem witht he colors going screwy seems to be fixed along with the sound problems. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!

Well, this isn't a game. Moogle said Tech Demos can count, so let's call it that.
Clickity click click.
Basicly, this is a demo of a job system I'd like to use in a game I keep trying to make, but due to me being unable to find people who can do graphics and actually get stuff done, it hasn't gone anywhere. I figure why let all that plotscripting effort go to waste?
The game itself is supposed to be a sci-fi fantasy type game, the first story in a trilogy. The story itself is quite similar to my old Dimension games, in terms certain events and some characters, but for the most part it's an entirely new thing. Basicly, it's Dimensions but done waaaaay better.
The file unfortunately contains no story elements or characters planned for the game. Since Sew and me planned to make a Naruto fan game for fun a number of years ago, I had some old graphics from that lying around and used them for testing, and they still remain in the demo. I just wanted to let everyone know that those have nothing to do with the game itself... They're just there for visual testing.
So anyways. The demo is to show what I wanted to do with a job system. You basicly level individual jobs and split them up by using percent points. In FF terms, you could take 40% White Mage, 40% Black Mage and 20% Knight to make a Red Mage, if those particular jobs themselves were leveled high enough. More info about the thing itself is posted here, back when I had a few graphics made... Just not enough to do anything with.
So, give it a try I guess. Keep in mind that the system itself was made before strings even came out, so the menu system may receive a more polished look down the road. That said, I still want to make the game itself, so if some artist out there wants to help make a game that has it's story and most of it's gameplay already figured out, lemme know. |

So, tonight I'll be releasing what I can of Jade. Since Hasta is STILL the current version, and I don't want to use a nightly that I don't even remember what bugs exist or not in it, I'm just going to release sans sound effects and whatnot (although if you run in a nightly, you will hear them for the menu). Once Uber comes out, Jade+SFX will follow a few days after.
Since Hasta also does not support running unlumped files, there is no loading benefit from this one. If you're happy with the current version, there is no real need to upgrade since I won't be able to offer a patch to the next version.

I demand an extension to the month of July!
One and a half afternoons just isn't enough time to get my 48 hour contest game (which I decided to work on instead) to a reasonably playable stage. If I keep working on it, maybe I'll release it next week - I might as well finish it totally than leave it as another tech demo. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Seriously... I'm still going to try to release my demo this week. Insanity, you say? Yes. But I am just that crazy.
It won't be July (though it's still July here for another 49 minutes), but it'll be a release. _________________
