wow.. I didn't notice that. It's that anagram generator's fault. Ha ha ha!

Your hints seem too difficult for me... or am I just stupid?
Anyway, this is what I can say so far: Sally wants to see other people, and John found out about it. Also, according to your hints, something must have happened that made Sally angry (Ladies first)... I don't know about that matchmaking thing, though...

I wikipediaed it and the most romance-related definition was "underpants". Neutral

"Tanga" means many things, none of them relevant to solving this puzzle.

Hint for 12/20: "We all need friends," said the white men. "Yes," agreed the pink men, "but who will be our friends?"

https://webspace.utexas.edu/perryar/DARKMOOR.zip isn't the concept art you plan on giving the winner, is it?

That same concept art is also included with the file on CP. Yes, it's that concept art, but the winner gets the originals.

The three closest are currently Joe Man in first and Krylanna and James tied for second. (Most of you don't know Krylanna, but many of you have heard of KainMinter and Shaede's Final Fantasy Gaiden, where she is a playable character. She is Shaede's wife IRL.)

Hint for 12/21: Once you have found the new partners, re-read John's letter. Consulting Wikipedia might help.

Hint for 12/22:
"Go to hell," Sally told him.
"You mean Hades," John replied. "Hell doesn't make sense in the context of this puzzle."

Can I also recommend some of the useful comments in the LJ entry?

Sorry, I've been spacing on hints since I'm on vacation. Here is the final hint. I have received two correct answers (rmsephy and nanakithirteen). I will leave the puzzle open until the weekend for a last-minute third-placer. After that, I will reveal the answer and solution.

Final Hint: Which river?

1. Rearrange the couples to form different words. The women should always go first.
2. The partners of the pink men are CH, AR, and ON. Put these letters in order to spell "Charon," the ferryman to Hades.
3. The answer refers to the last line of John's letter, "Cry me a river." The river across which Charon ferried the souls of the dead is Acheron, the answer to this puzzle.

Winners are Sephy, Nanakithirteen, and Joe Man. Please e-mail me (arperry@gmail) with your prize preference and address.
