| I like the concept. You should do my soon-to-be-released-as-a-demo game Revelations. You know you want to. |

Which would make my Eight Granasties game a good candidate
I think Friend's games could be a good source for discussion.Purgatory, City of Dreams, Boundless Ocean... _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Yeah, I'd like to stick to finished games.
After much reflection, I still think Sword of Jade is a good candidate for the first "book". People seem to have strong opinions on it, I think most of us have played it, and, like it or hate it, it has tons of content, both story-wise and gameplay-wise. So, I'm going to take the initiative and say we should have the first "book" club meeting in two weeks and talk about it. That should give everyone (ie me) time to finish playing through if they haven't already done so, and allow for some gamethon discussion beforehand (judging for that is almost over, right?)
And to everybody who expressed distaste at the idea of using SoJ, I hope you'll still join us in the discussion, even if it is just to pan the game. Even if you couldn't stand it enough to play it all the way through, that's worth talking about. I'm not trying to assign homework here, just trying to get some focused discussion and maybe stir up some interest in playing OHR games. |

That'll be good, because I'd like to know what it is people hate so much about SOJ. Hopefully that hate will still focus on the game and not go off to much into philosphy and such. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

So would I, it's a big mystery to me.
This sounds like a cool idea. I would be sure to particpate in any games following SoJ. |

Is this a typo? If not, can you clarify what you meant? _________________

As in, SoJ is the first game to be discussed and any games later covered by the book club are thus following SoJ. As in, | FyreWulff wrote: | | This sounds like a cool idea. I would be sure to particpate in [the discussion of] any games following SoJ [in the OHR book club]. |

Yeah, this, because there is no sequel for SoJ being worked on (or even planned).
Anyway, I look forward to this. |

I'm in.
In fact I think there should be a permant thread or suboard just for the book club. And a mini mod to decide when and what we discuss. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!

| The LAST thing this forum needs is another Subboard. Review Wars should suffice. |

Or, you know, just delete/rename the OHR Weekly subforum, since OHR Weekly is never updating again.
Pro:
a main-page subforum is highly visible and would encourage more "passerby" users to participated
Con:
Not posting it as part of the game's journal detaches it from the game
Pro:
It's easier to keep track of multiple discussions on multiple games, if people wish to add something to a discussion if you make a single subforum
con:
If the game is deleted from the gamelist, all the discussion disappears forever if it's subforum is used |

Let's not jump the gun here, folks. We haven't even done this once yet, so I don't think we know if a sub forum is neccessary yet. Also, I don't know if this can last forever. If the speed of our discussion outpaces the amount of content on the gamelist, we'll have another OHR-Weekly style dead forum in no time.
Fyre: Don't feel like you can't participate in the SoJ discussion just because you're the author. It'd be great to get your perspective on things, or just hear about what you were trying to do in the context of the points that will be raised. |
