Ok! I did exactly as you said but it unfortunatelly didn't work. I don't have any new game on my hardrive. Rather strange isn't it?
Maybe I didn't check the right place Could somoene confirm that the new rpg game is supposed to be create in the directory in which custom.exe is?
Thanks for the help and sorry for making you write the basis that everyone is supposed to know. |

This is what I was trying to say earlier. You have to save after you rename the game in custom, otherwise no new file will be created. _________________ My name is...

EDIT: If I'm thinking right, the new file is just a copy of the old file as it existed at the moment you hit the button. You still have OLDFILE.RPG and NEWFILE.rpg, and can edit and modify both. |
Yes, Giz, you can edit either of them in custom, but, if I'm not mistaken, any changes made to one are made to the other as well, or it might've been any changes made to the other are annulled as soon as you open the one. It's because the Windows filenames may be different, but CUSTOM thinks of both of them as NEWFILE.rpg and so they derive from the same lump folder or some such. It's been a while, so I'm not completely sure. |

No, the new and old rpg file are completely different games after you've renamed them. Editing one does not effect the other, but the risk of confusion of misplacing of work is great. You should probably remove (or for good practise, backup) the old rpg file. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

It appears that I didn't save the game. That's why I couldn't get the new rpg file on my hardrive.
Thanks for the help! ^_^ |
