Well, I think there's been less posts because people are actually thinking before they post. And meh... There's been dry spells for games in the past. I'm sure it'll pick up again... And if not, maybe people have just been moving onto better things like I have.
I'm not sure what IM completely does with his time, but I know a good portion of it goes towards making the CP server better, more reliable and secure. Also, he's been working hard adding features to the server for future uses with a project him and me are currently working on.
And then, there's the whole integration of said project with the site. Then the new design for the site itself, which includes a live journal for you all to post whatever you want on, a friend list you can modify, ability to comment on a persons journal/log entry. The feature to make game progress logs. E-mail support. A calendar for all users of CP to contribute to, so people can see when contests will be, or certain events. A "software" list (Like the gamelist but more diverse) having multiple genres, integrated progress logs, music, and advertising. The ability to comment on reviews without having to post about it in a forum.
I've also designed a system that will "cooperate" with the software IM and me are developing (The project I meantioned earlier). It basicly let's users gain CP (Castle Points), and then eventually, CL (Castle Levels). You can think of it as Experience Points and Levels from RPGs. Except this is used throughout the site for various things. CP and CL will become a sort of currency for the site, where you can trade and buy stuff off other users. CL was also designed as an alternative for banning users; Mods take away hard earned CP And CL if you act like a moron. CL can be exchanged for items on OHR Paraphenalia (Or whatever that place is called). CL can be rewards for people who win contests. Basicly, I designed a gameplay system for the site to make it more enjoyable.
But just what the heck is this software though? Well, I want it to be a surprise. But maybe it has online features... Maybe.
But you see, things are planned, and things are being done. In fact, I'm sure there's a lot of things I've forgot to meantion. But how much of all that is made? Well, the Live Journal is basicly done, and the other site features have been started on. Concerning the software, I've been testing each individual component and we'll soon start actually making the thing. Some more research and testing is still needed, and the final design also but it's coming along. Graphic artists and music composers will be needed but we already kinda have people in mind (Or maybe IM even asked them, I'm not sure).
So anyhow, if doing all that plus the stuff going on in IMs real life and mine as well isn't busy then I don't know what is. And yeah, we're serious. We're going to get this done no matter how long it takes. |

I'm in the process of writing up my own set of terms of service, which I will submit to the admins for verification and approval within the week, so we'd have some on hand in case IM's take too long to do. The major motivation for doing this is to free IM of the obligation to do so, and allow him to concentrate instead on the site upkeep and programming. I'm sure he's sick and tired of having to do everything himself, but the simple fact is that I haven't contributed much in the past few months, so I'm offering to do it instead.
I mean, come on. I've been doing doing dozens of commissions, finding and finally WORKING at a job, while having to balance family and friends time and somehow find 4 hours of sleep to recharge on and I STILL made a remixed OHRadius. I think I can handle making a set of rules. |

I think some of the problem about people doing stuff OHR related as much anymore is just that it's still right after Christmas. I know that I could have been making some more reviews and posts than what I have is because I've still been doing all the stuff I got for Christmas. I think after a month or two people would have stopped with all their Christmas stuff and will get back into making OHR stuff. _________________ The Following Statement is True.

I think that the activity will go back up when April hits, because of the Terrible Game Contest. And thats always a huge event for everyone. _________________ The Following Statement is True.

How in the world is the TGC "always a big event for everyone" when there's only been two and you haven't been around for either one? _________________

A few months ago everybody was complaining that their was an overflow of noobs and bad games. Maybe people are just sitting down and takin time to make actual games. The TG Contest is really just an exuse for people to make Reeeely bad games ( not the good afrenhouse kindof bad). For every slum their is a surplus. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!

Maybe, you know, a lot of people are just sitting in front of computer screens waiting idly for other people to post something. That's what I'm doing.
OR maybe, you know, the people who have made the majority of games for the OHR have either abandoned CP's gamelist since the "Common Sense" thread, left the community altogether, gone off to use other game-making engines, or taken an OHR hiatus due to financial crises, exams, etc etc etc.. _________________ im realy ded |

Speaking of user attendance on these forums; sure everyone noticed that yesterday the record was reset when a flood of 176 users came piling into Castle Paradox.
However, most of them were most undoubtedly Bots. Either that or people that someone linked to this forum from another community (not naming any names, of course.) about three of these people were real users. The rest were mostly guests and hidden.
On a related note: Should we let that record stand? What do you guys think about this? Thank you. Bye bye. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
