You haven't for my contribution. How would you feel about donating the 7 bucks to Kiva? Your choice of borrower! By the way, did we ever get the "some instruments not playing" problem sorted out?

Kiva? Done!

The instrument problem was at least explained if not solved. The problem is that timidity's instrument set is missing a bunch of instruments. That means that anybody using Linux, and any windows user who has a sound card driver with absolutely no midi synth support (rare, I think) will still be missing certain instruments.

For the past few months I have been mentally debating whether I should convert all my MIDI files into OGG Vorbis using a nice soundfont. It would sound really good, but I am balking at the 26 megabyte filesize increase.

I got the description up in my journal! it took like 3 tries because it kept trying to tell me i logged out, even though i didnt. I think i just went too long with no activity. Anyway, i started the skeletal kind of thing that will be my script. It just needs the items and attacks to be added in. All that is left to do is the music and thinking of more items. Remember, you will go in the credits AND get a special weapon, cameo, or enemy/ally of your choice if you submit some music!

wanted is still:
battle music 1
battle music 2
battle music 3
Town music
Dungeon music 1
Dungeon music 2
title music

Thanks in advance! Happy

what are the themes of the game binoal? Its hard for composers to come up with stuff unless you give them an idea as to what the themes are (e.g does the battle music need to be vaugly cheery, or melodramatic) I'll do a track or two, but remember to poke me into working every week otherwise I'll become lazy, and feel guilty (sorry Spoonweaver...I will make that up some how!) *note to self: I owe Spoonweaver one fairly big favour*

EDIT: On a side note, d'ya want any INN music, or is that sorted/uneeded?

EDIT2: Here's your town music If its not what you're looking for, then I'll give it another shot, it's short, so it may need replacing :p but It should (hopefully) loop well, and if ya want more from me then give me some idea as to what I should be aiming for theme wise :p

Well the overall kind of mood is a little mysterious/cautious i guess for the dungeon songs, and it sounds like you nailed the town song, its great! The battle music should be fast paced and sort metal-ish, although i have always had trouble making something hardcore in anvil. lol. As for inn music, im actually trying to make that one, and its going pretty good so far. Title musci should be pretty cheery, but sort of foreboding. Btw, any ideas for your cameo or anything?

wanted is now:
battle music 1
battle music 2
battle music 3
Dungeon music 1
Dungeon music 2
title music

Sounds great! but sorry to be picky but could u plz post it not in jpg? it completely ruins the quality and now i need to recolor your sprite. And i think your cameo may be either someone you can talk to in town, or someone you can save/find in the dungeon and he could give you the spadesword or sumthin. just throwing out ideas haha.

wanted is now:
battle music 2
battle music 3
Dungeon music 1
Dungeon music 2

Crying I swore I saved it in BMP! Sad... stupid paint...and I thought I could trust you paint! I'll reupload it again in a bit (probably in 14-bit colour mode, I'll recolour it, and leave the actual palette colours next to it in the .ZIP, in other news I also wrote some cheery and forboding Title Music for the game as-well.
The cameo can just be some random dude in town if ya want, but he must make a cheesy quote from a 60/70 rock song when spoken to like "That shopkeeper tricked me into buying that potion for 10 gold more than its worth! Whatever the case, I Won't get fooled again.", "When out adventuring look out for money, stash it, stack, I don't really care, just whatever you do, don't take a slice of my pie!", "I heard that waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down deep inside dungeon, there's the really nasty things..." or "Me? I don't live here, I came from way over yonder, way back across that hill."

Or you could use "Binoalogy". Feel free to say no since i've always been awful at guitar music.

I see that people accept cameos in games for original music. I've searched the music that are available in the site but I just couldn't find stuff that are suitable for my other game, ABEL. I did find one and here is:

http://castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=323

I still need a few more music. Battle music is easy to find in the forum, my problem mainly are map music.

Maps that I have:

Raider's dungeon
Military Base
Deserted city
desert

The type of music I'm thinking about is dark and atmospheric. It would be as if the game is a dystopian adventure from the eighties to the early nineties. Drums are good too. And those eerie wind instrument types that drown in the background. And those brrrrrr droning sounds are good too.

could be inspiring:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CsLYRViuEc&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIJpIngQO9A - the music after the gas is released

I'll make a cameo of anything you like, even a character from your own image, and of course credits...

Oh and all music have to be in midi :-)

I just noticed this thread, and well, I've been producing just about every sort of music for the past 15 years. Currently I am using Reason and I can release songs in just about every format. Keep in mind when it comes to midi, most of the stuff I make is too complex for such a file type and once converted it sounds like garbage... (lots of instruments dont appear, notes are missing, etc)

Anyways, I've uploaded a couple songs that i will be using in the game I am making and 2 other songs to serve as demo for other styles of music.

From my Game:
http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=460
http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=461

Dubstep Demo:
http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=462

Alternative Demo:
http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=463

I am offering my services for anyone who needs music for their game, I will also do things for free. ( Though keep in mind, I will not spend that much time on something for free :p ). Making any good songs to meet my own standards takes a huge ammount of time which I have to fit in an already screamingly busy schedule. Now for the ones willing to pay, Yes i can make you something great, depending what you want, how detailed and complex, will depend of the price. I can take other things in exchange of music, such as graphics or whatever too.

PS; If this isent the right thread for this, I apologize.
