Well, another submission from me, guess it's mangastyle stuff that rocks this place but crap it, here's another weird one.
Still working on some improvements so I'll post the finished piece here later. |

Damn. My guess is Painter, correct? I gotta ask what you're doing here. Your work is looks too good to be posted around here. I've been trying to get to that level (I actually have Painter but have no idea how it works) You have a website or tutorial? I and many others could use a lot of pointers from you. _________________ If you hit a plane with the soccer, could you afford to fix it? - Shaolin Soccer

Hey guys, thanks for them comments
Iblis; Thanks man
Melnazar; Maybe someday
MCW; Ok...tell me what you dont like about them and maybe I could fix it.
GT; Thanks
Megumi; I use photoshop 6.0
Veduanga; What I'm doing here? heh I dunno, I was involved in the ohr community for a long time and learned alot from it, I think some ppl here have good potential in art but need to be pushed in right direction when it comes to colors composition and anatomy, maybe I can be that help.
Im working on a website and I have a coloring tutorial in the works, Ill let you know when both are finished. |

The finger by the thumb, second on the right looks awkwardly bright, and more round than mecanical. Like, the other fingers have those metallic.. things.. that get smaller for the finger to get smaller. That finger I pointed ot looks the same size the whole way through. And, um, it doesn't look like it's in the sand. |

Tablet, yes since a year back now.
I agree with the comment about the finger, did this composition before I noticed your comment so it didnt get included in the fixes.
Well maybe later

now that we're on a new server, lets see if it'll finally let me post that (insert profanity) review... which was done off of royal's first robomonkey picture, not the second. this is attempt number 39 to post this cretique.
**********
manga shmanga. fantasy and dementia (especially dementia) floats my boat.
the hat that the monkey wears, i'm not sure if you meant it to be metal or cloth. judging from past pictures i would be inclined to say metal, but truthfully it looks like cloth to me. the pinpoint eyes succeed in producing a rather toughtless look while the mouth and head posture give the idea that he is examining the area with a cautious curiosity. the monkey's fur is the absolute most traditional color and length (among monkey illustrations), a rather surprising choice given your leaning to the odd. but the most surprising part is your chosen technique for the monkey's fur which has a texture more resembling skin than fur, and if not for the occational tuff sticking out, i would have called it skin. except for the light reflection on his chest, the monkey seems to have only been thrown in at the last.
the gorilla succeeds in looking metal, but in places only by the fact that it's grey. at other places, the detail of the reflections and scrapes in the metal are marvelous. but this is something i've come to expect from you and i would have been disappointed not to find it. the detail that tickles me pink this time around is the faint aura where the light strikes both monkey and gorilla. ingenious!
gorillas do not normally have tails (no more than us anyway), but this gorilla's tail is almost unnoticable (nice) except it almost looks like a metalic leach.
i would have liked to see a longer snout on the gorilla, the round head and supersized eyes remind me of a pug... you know, those dogs that look like they've been whacked in the face with a shovel. the chest plates scream 'sci fi' with its asymetrical pattern.
the gorilla's back legs appear to have been created out of canibalized jet engines (i've toured macdonald-douglas three times while in vica, i can say this with a fair amount of athenticity), while the fore legs resemble metalic, segmented, pillbugs. the chips on the gorilla's left fore leg don't quite seem to belong, as there are no leading scrape marks, or continuing gouges, dents, or even corresponding chips in the segment below it. however, i adore the brushed metal look... copper i presume? the bolts are not spaced the same on each leg, but even more noticable than spacing between bolts is the space between the bolts and the division between coper and steel, being of lesser degree on the left leg than the right.
most of the fingers and toes of the gorilla do not appear to be really metal... i mean, yes they do have a metalic texture, but they appear more to be flesh toes that just happen to be segmented and painted with metalic paint. the one exception is the second finger from the left on the right hand, which not only looks like it's actually metal, but also has the natural bend of someone who cannot completely straighten their fingers out (from years of gripping tools and steering wheels, my father is such a person).
the tunnel doesn't quite look like anything, but generally gives me the impression of formed sand. strangely, the sand around the front left gorilla hand looks like the hand had pounded into a silk cloth that had been pinched to stand up. the sand around the right hand looks more like a failed scribble. but the two fingers on the left side of the right hand do appear to be shoved into the sand.
oh, and before i forget... you didn't quite succeed in erasing the lines between the bottom two segments of the left fore leg.
the veins you put on the sand, is it tree roots or the mucus left behind by a humongous earthworm? it really doesn't look like either. they are too strong near the top (unless you're going for bioluminecense, but it doesn't look like that, either), especially on the left side of the picture. the streaks of light from the right look more like white strings pulled off of a white fabric sheet than they look like light. it makes it look like both monkey and gorilla were sprayed with spider silk and are too stupid to notice. the only ones that look like they may actually be light are the ones coming from the top of the picture from a completely different source point.
edit: yae!!! it works!!! _________________ LJ.Art
