Well the games never really broke for me yet. But if it'd rely on lumping and unlumping it'll be way dangerous.
Even if you do daily backups, having to redo a whole day of work is enough reason to quit the project sometimes. :-/

That's why it's a good idea to make a back up right before to implement the changes.

Don't know how you develop your games, but I open the OHRRPGCE in the morning and then close it after 12 hours again and then make a backup. Even if I make a backup before I open it it won't change much. ^^'

You leave the OHR running for 12 hours straight?!

For chrissakes, I won't even let Notepad stay open that long. Waaay too much potential for random error.

I do "Save game and continue editing" every hour or so. Sometimes not because I'm so deep into a certain graphic that I forget the time...

Wow. I had forgotten what it feels like to be a Windows user. Although I don't leave the OHR running when I am not using it, I leave my text editor open for weeks, or even months. Of course I still save everything constantly. Its just that I fear screwing up something myself, not random errors.

I can't wait to get my own comp. Boo random errors.

I usually get about 10 minutes in at the most. My stuff is just collecting dust on this HD...

That's what I meant by random errors--misplaced keystrokes and the like.

Windows has never given me stability troubles in itself, but the OHR has randomly crashed on me SEVERAL times. I see no logic in leaving it open for hours.

Ah, I understand now. Well, way back when I was primarily a Windows user, I was using windows 98, so random crashes in *everything* were the norm.

As for random OHR crashes, they may be unpleasant, but I do always like to hear about them

Proof of this can be seen if you compile a script with the latest version of Hamsterspeak. I don't recall where, but somewhere there is a global variable that apparently has a 'c' in it where it shouldn't be.

Heroists are currently called RPGCreations.

Also, what ever happened to Kinder Der Alter? You know, the game that was starting to be planned out on the LJ group but never really got anywhere...?

On hold in favor of Saturated Dreams (This I know because I was doing the 7 children designs in Kinder, and now have the task of designing SD's monsters).

This question has been polled before, here: http://www.castleparadox.com/ohr/viewtopic.php?t=4089
Interestingly, there's a difference in results: far more people voted 2000 or earlier on this poll than that one. What happened to all the newbies?

Hehehe... funny how it also took us 3 weeks to pick that up.
