yes, Mp usage is screwed up! Looks like this update has caused more problems than it solved... for me anyway.

I'm sure he'll fix the small bugs from this update pretty quickly, as he has done so in the past. OHR updates usually consist of one BIG update, and then a couple small ones afterwards . |

Ouch is right. That 1 GB was all downloaded from 56K at a constant speed of 3 KB.
Anyway I hope to see the little updates soon. _________________ OHR dies hard. |

Good ol' 56K modems. They're called 56K modems, connect to the internet at 28K, and download at 2-3K . . . why are they 56K modems? I know no one with dialup who manages to do anything at 56K.
However, the dialup connection that I use and the speeds associated thereof are an excellent reason to talk about why I like the OHR: it's tiny. Under 1 meg! I mean, all the others are giant, multimegabyte files, but the OHR is dowloadable by anyone. Happy. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

My modem once achieved an unbelievable speed of 12 KB and stayed there. Another time it downloaded files at 20 to 30 KB for a few seconds...
As for the OHR, I've noticed my game seems to have none of the problems associated with the new update. For example what's wrong with the MP ~ stat? So far it works and I haven't found anything wrong with it. Someone also said that they were able to cast spells at 0 MP. Is it necessarily 0 or can it be not enough MP? My game won't let me cast spells without enough MP. Everything tends to work pretty well with my game but surprisingly, none of the others?! The name your hero script failed in another game but in the one I'm talking about it worked normally. Is my game just "immune" or am I still missing the problems here? _________________ OHR dies hard. |

The problem I've had with MP deals only with Random Effects type attacks. I have a random attack that costs the same MP no matter which result occurs (I did this by making all of the attacks in the spell list set to Random Effects cost the same MP), but when a hero does not have enough MP choosing the random attack does not fail. It keeps working, and costing nothing. In contrast, for regular spell lists where the player can choose which spell to use, he is not allowed to pick spells that he does not have enough MP for.
Actually, I'm going to post something about this in the OHR general discussion forum, I think that it belongs there... |

That has always happened with "random" spell-lists. _________________

This is not about the most recent update, this is something from way back when that I've been interested in changing for quite some time. |

I guess because I never really tapped into what the OHR is trully capable of like some people, that's why I haven't seen any bugs, but while playing wandering hamster I noticed that bob had no skill points, regardless of how many times he leveled up, and james had an infinite amount of MP. Is this a bug? If so, I hope it doesn't affect other games. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I hope that James gets it fixed soon. I want to put custom hero names in the next update of Hackers, but I'll wait until whenever. |

the only thing bad i've noticed so far (and i haven't tried much of anything yet) is that when set to rename upon joining, link's graphics in zelda; doujingeemu vanishes, but if set to rename at the status screen, his graphics remain as they should. but i suspect that this "bug" has more to do with interferrence from the plotscript that forces the camera to act like zelda1. since zelda; doujingeemu is the only game with this kind of plotscript and it doesn't seem anyone else is all that interested in duplicating the script, it seems almost pointless to mention it since it's basically a one-game-problem. it just seems more "quirk" than "bug" and not likely to remain once a more zelda1-ish new game start is added. _________________ LJ.Art

Actually, that is a renaming bug - JSH and I have the same problem and James has added it to the buglist. They actually don't "vanish", they just get reset to picture/palette 0, so if your walkabout set 0 is empty, then yes, he will turn invisible. :\ _________________

OK... I tried the name thing on an olser computer and it seemed to work perfectly. Joey kept the Joey graphic after being renamed, and Tomboy kept the Tomboy graphic. |

I just found out that the magic stuff is really screwed up. :-/
Some spells won't work even with enough MP, some will work with 0, and I don't know whether it's a long time bug, but the First Target stat for Attacks won't work. In my game, 4 enemies have to attack the first target and their attacks are set to but they go off attacking each other and it's pissing me off. _________________ OHR dies hard. |
