I managed to recover all of these articles and all the other html on the site (the source must remain secret due to extreme bandwidth limits which took down the site last time I looked). If nobody thinks Ubersteve would complain, I'll ask IM for a sub domain for RPG Online.
I'm surprised this issue is so light on previews and reviews. But that central section, articles, is still strong.
The history article was excellent. I think an article on game companies would be interesting, if short. I'd like an article on the history of the games themselves: there are far too many classical games to bring to attention by reviewing all of them individually, so an article that mentions the important games, trends and how the games being made changed with time and developments (such as those addressed in other issues.) I remember someone telling me once that sample.rpg had the best graphics at one point so several people ripped it. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Ubersteve was kind of temperamental early on but I think he mellowed a bit in his later years, so I don't think he'd mind. I want to read Vidual's articles again at least, so at least do those! _________________ Tower Defense Game |

The whole cover thing seems pretty fair. Since it's not my turn this month, I'll definitely conjure up a comic for the next issue. _________________ ---------------Projects----

To spice it up, I could acquire interviews from members of those companies. I'm still in contact with StellarX and Tarot-Master for example, one of them would do for Red Murdock. Maybe Lucier or her brother or Fortis or even Fyrewulff or Charbile (since they were in there -- RPGCreations was actually at first a "branch" of Insight Games I think) could be interviewed about Insight Games. |
I was in Red Murdock AND Insight Games (not at the same time), so you could interview me for both. _________________ ARRRR, GLADYS! CHALK IT, DON'T PLEASURE IT |

So future Hist-OHR-y's...
- Ohrrpgce engine itself (interview with James)
- Ohrrpgce games in general (trends and such)
- Ohrrpgce contests (to coincide with the 48 hour contest this summer?)
- Ohrrpgce companies (with interviews)
- Ohrrpgce classic games (author by author or game by game)
One idea I had was for a WHERE ARE THEY NOW?? article, tracking down lost Ohrrpgce members to see what they're doing today. For instance, Royal, who used to be a prominent member here, now works as a 3D artist at Lionhead Studios. _________________ Tower Defense Game |

I might not be able to write a HIST-OHR-Y for the next issue (definitely the issue after that, though). My feeble excuse is that my deadline for the release of Immortal Defense is around May 1, and I'm currently working hard on that to get it ready for launch.
If anyone else wants to write one in my stead that's fine too (particularly the people who've been around awhile like Fortis Moogle etc.). _________________ Tower Defense Game |

RPGC existed before IG
like, 4 years before IG
I just backburnered the name
then I brought it back and stole Charbile and the rest is history |
