As far as I'm aware, Purgatory is the only OHR game that is a horror survival type of game.
You might have noticed that recently, I uploaded info about a game I'm working on called Bloodlust on the game list.
My question is, what would you like to see in an OHR horror survival game? I'm merely asking to get an idea of what sort of things one would like to see in such a game. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Pitch Black One and Two might be considered Survival Horror Games.
What I'd like to see in an OHR Survival Horror game is a concept that utilizes the engines strengths, knows the engines weaknesses, and is an original and fun game, not just a reenvisioning of something for a console, or some existing Survival Horror idea. RPGs are about stats and numbers, and I think you could make a pretty good tactical RPG using "Chance of Attack" type figures to choose random encounters. |

Evildead is kind of a survival-horror. It was a great game eight years ago, too. _________________

Survival horror games are cool. Purgatory and Pitch Black were all awesome, and we need MORE like them at CP. We need a game that's FRIGHTENING, with atmospheric music (creepy sfx would be nice too, but you can't do that with OHR... yet), things jumping out at you when you least expect it, intense non-hold-down-the-damned-spacebar battles, interesting protagonists and antagonists, a story that doesn't suck, and most importantly, violence that would make Ed Gein shed a tear of joy. I'd make one myself, but I suck at making games and everyone hates me. |

I think making a horror game in the OHR is really difficult... My game, Nightmarish, totally sucks in terms of the scariness and originality... And the fact that it's in 2d...
Friend and Shadow are exceptions to this, though...
Probably the maker can put some frighteing backdrops in order to kinda "startle" the gamers... _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

My crap-ass Halloween entry used the backdrops thing. However, the picture quality was sacrificed tremendously... _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Forget what I said earlier. I'm making a survival-horror game. It's called Revelations. You play a girl who has revelations. There's zombies and demons. There's blood. There's gore. There's all that crap. Eventually I'll put up a little demo and everyone can tell me whether or not it sucks. Valigarmander out. |

The Seventh Day was supossed to be surivial horror, but it ended up being a ripoff of Parasite Eve meets Beverly Hills 90210.
For good 2d scares, scrounge yourself up a Clock Tower: The First Fear SNES rom (er...uh..."legally?"). I dunno about its legality because it was a japanese game, but it is excellent at making you pee your pants...in 2d! Also, I ripped it off for pb2, in case you didn't notice. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

I played Clock Tower actually, I got the err, cartridge, about a week ago. At first I was like, what, it's gonna scare me?
Needless to say, I have trouble sleeping at night when I think of Scissorman. It has also been an inspiration to me for survival horror, as well as Purgatory. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Shit, I just finished that game a month ago using an emulator.
It was scarier than the 2nd Clock Tower (Ghosthead)... I got the best ending, and it sure freaked me out.. Hell, I even remember my reaction when the first scream was heard in the hallway. _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

(Someday soon... like hopefully tommorow)
(orry for the offtopicness... I suppose I could make my current game into a horror/survival game, it has a prerequisite setting, but I just don't have the resources or skills to turn it into one) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

The only other good one that hasnt been mentioned was "Project C" that was cool with the whole flashlight thing.
My MC: Tsunami City was supposed to be a survival horror...and as you all know...it PWNED very badly. _________________ The Following Statement is True.
