I can't get 2mas to work for the life of me. I run it with the command "c:/blah/blah/2mas.exe new.pcx new.pal". Am I doing something wrong here? It seems to hate me. I've tried it with the downloadable palette that neo made, and that doesn't work either. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here, or even just convert my .pcx file to .pal for me? Thanks.

I'm guessing you're not actually using C:/blah/blah/ as a directory. I think there might be a problem if any of your folder names exceeds eight characters.

Anyways, Neo made tons of downloadable custom palettes. If the above suggestion doesn't work, show me which one you're using and I can convert it for you.

.. If you want a .MAS file, you have to specify a MAS file. Not a .PAL file (what are they, anyway?)

To use it on the included one, you have to first save a 24bit version of it. The included version is 8bit so that editing the image palette works directly. (as the readme says.)

This bug includes the new to-be-default master palette in 2MAS format. If you're having trouble with the above, you could try that instead.

If after all that it still doesn't work, send me the MAS file and I'll try to fix it.

Rimudora: Actually Rinku made most of those, if you mean the ones in OHR Monthly. He suggested I could but I declined (basically, no time to make a decent palette before the article was due, as evidenced by the rather filter-y nature of the palettes he made.)

Oh, yeah I mean .mas. I think the problem is the way I saved the pcx file, I don't think it's 24-bit. What's a good paint program to use for making palettes?

What program do you use now? I, personally, only have experience with a few.

Photoshop: Go to the Image menu, choose Mode, and choose RGB. Save.

GIMP: Right click on the image, choose Color Mode (I believe), and choose RGB. Save.

MS Paint: Give up now.
