What fun. My harddrive crashed a few days ago. Everything is gone. I'm going to have to restart all of my OHR games from scratch (to be honest, I had almost nothing done on them anyway).
Now I know why everyone says back up your files... _________________ Ssalamanderr's Journal!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ssalamanderr/

That stinks, Ssalamanderr. Don't worry about backing up though, almost no one does it until their hard drive crashes at least once. I DO know a company where they can retrieve data from hard drives... they did it once for the police on a hard drive that was thrown into a frozen lake... just read about it last month. But the average price is 900 dollars! Bah, stupid corporations! _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

If you don't have a CD burner, I'll feel sorry for you. If you do, WHY DIDNT YOU BACKUP?! I backup everytime I spend over 3 hours on the ohr (cd-rw's) which is frequently.
Oh well. Sorry about it crashing and all; that really sucks (I should know; heh) _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

I backed up my entire hard drive on CDs once... but only .000001% of the hard drive space I take up ever changes, and that's basically just OHR. I back up that on diskettes, because it's quicker. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

Shadowii: I am deprived. I have no CD burner.
The only thing I really miss from my game are some graphics. They were basically the only thing I had worked on for quite some time.
Fenrir: Yes. I agree. _________________ Ssalamanderr's Journal!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ssalamanderr/

Don't worry, man. I haven't got a CD burner either. What I do to back up my games is this:
I don't know if you know any HTML code, but Sir Phoenix started up the Realmsoft site to store the games on when they were finished. That way, if you're comp crashes, you still can download them all over again. _________________
