In my latest idea for an RPG, it requires the use of mice and cats. I am having problems designing characters with "snouts" (I don't know the actually name for these.) Does anyone know any movies or shows or even pictures of cartoon mice or any other mice that stand on two legs?

Art Spiegelman's Maus.
A comic about Spiegelman's father's experiences during the Holocaust.
It used mice to represent Jews and cats to represent Nazis, to show that a serious story could be told in a cartoon format.

Maus is amazingly brilliant. Read it even if you aren't looking for art tips.

Why don't you watch the movie "Cats and Dogs" ? Smokin'

It has cats and mouses that stand on two legs and there in graphics...my brother has it...its a kind of retarded movie but if you want to see cats and mouses then you should look into it. Really confused

I couldn't put that down. I read both books in one sitting.

I dug up a few scans
http://socialdesignzine.aiapnet.it/images/Maus-8.jpg
http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~juda102/images/maus.jpg
http://www.sackville.ednet.ns.ca/art/gallery/exhibit/zine/Spiegelman-Maus-26-1986-21.jpg

Spiegelman's style of drawing anthropomophic animals is very simple and very effective. And since I couldn't find any scans on the web that show his cats, here is a scan from my own copy:

Note especially the close-up of the feline SS officer in the top right panel

I know how you must've felt. I don't mean to compete,
but I ended up pulling an all-nighter when I picked up
H.G. Wells "The Time Machine"

Now, back to the topic! There's Tom and Jerry (cat), and
Garfield stands on two legs sometimes. As for dogs, I
can't help you.

I'm really worried about this game (plot-wise mostly.) Originally, I was going to do the original story(that I've been incubating since before I knew the word incubating.) Now I have to redo the whole story because after reviewing it, it turned out to just be Dragonball Z with mice and cats. Thanks for the pictures, though.

I know this looks bad, but here's a concept for the main character.

All comments welcome

Edit: What am I doing wrong? The picture won't post. Do I need to put it in a website?

You can't show images from your computer (i.e. hard drive, floppy drive). You have to upload them onto a website first.

Yeah, but it'd work in HTML if we had your disk in our drives.

Here we are...

Yeah, this is really very ugly, but I'm not an artist, I'm a musician. (My pixel stuff is actually interesting, but this...ugh..)

other anthromorphic mice and cats in cartoons:

loony toons / tiny toons (both mice and cats)
disney cartoons (mostly mice)
arthur (on pbs, neither cats nor mice are common, but they occasionally show up)
ren and stimpy (well, i wouldn't SUGGEST going here, but stimpy IS a cat)
pokémon (pikachu's a mouse)
digimon (gatomon's a cat)
batman: the animated series (yes, an anthromorphic cat has appeared here)
the incredible hulk (one of the gamma mutant creatures is a mouse/rat... though you obviously don't want to be looking at THAT for ideas)
teenaged mutant ninja turtles (either animated series. splinter is a rat)
yu-gi-oh! (duel monsters, such as joey's panther warrior, are occationally anthromorphic animals)
rocko's modern life (again, not the best source material)
catdog (especially the greasers)
angry beavers (well, beavers are rodents, but they've had cats, too)
captain n: the game master (best source episode of the series: once upon a time machine. pero, the two henchcats, and various scene extras are all cats)
the adventures of sonic the hedgehog (not the current sonicx anime on foxbox. this one was lamely drawn at times, but mice and cats occationally appeared)
the cat in the hat (NOT the live action version)
the grinch grinches the cat in the hat (i love this one)
woody woodpecker (good luck finding this one, though)
she-ra: the princess of power (had one episode with anthromorphic cats)

cant think of any more

Actually, that doesn't look bad. It looks pretty good. I can't really say much about drawing anthro characters, since the only two I've ever done were in 5th Age, and I don't want to even go there. Raspberry!
