I too found it looking for a game maker on google. I found a site with about 6 on it, and the only one that worked was the ohr.

I'm afraid I found it using the Game Designer's Search Engine. I dunno it's site, or if it even exists anymore. Oookay... It was a hot afternoon on August the 3rd, 1999 around 4 PM. Whee XD

My friend drew these comics and one day he made a game about it. Gave it to me on a floppy with custom, and I have had it ever since. Although, now I have far surpassed him. Hahaha. Ha ha ha! :flamedevil:

Though a Sailor Moon fan-site. Someone made a game of Sailor Moon with custom, so I thought I would give it a try.

I was in my ever-so-helpless search for a way to program a game when I stumbled across it on Yahoo.com

I first heard about it on this really, really old Pokémon message board (which is gone now.. it completely disentigrated) when I was asking random people where to find RPG makers, and I didn't want to use RPG Maker 95 because it kept crashing my computer (and almost two years ago, I tried it out on my dad's newer computer, and... it STILL crashes a lot!), and someone mentioned it.

This was, I think, back when armor didn't work? Or something like that... But I'm pretty sure armor didn't work, because none of my game ideas from back then have any mention of armor...

to be honest, this is the FOURTH thread on "How did you find/run into/discover the OHR?"

it's kinda tiring...

You mean this is the fourth one on THIS particular MB... There have been several on each incarnation of the popular OHR MB.

I (along with PHC probably) discovered the wonders of OHR through the use of ether.

Actually my real method has been said before. Go search for it at the bottom of the forum list somewhere. I'll tell you what my first encounter with the OHR was....

I typed something like RPG Creation Engine on Yahoo, and found my way to the OHR. I actually read all of the howto and FAQ's and hamsterspeak tutorials and things before I finally downloaded it. At first I couldn't believe just how cool it was.

I found out about OHR from a forum... they were talking about RPG making on Square.net (now rpgamer). Somebody, forgot who; mentioned the OHR; people clamored to say it sucked but I checked it out anyway.

That was in umm.. spring 98.

Ditto what Fenrir said. Found it off of (the now dead) "Ginga Giri Giri".
