You all should know the drill for voting. And if you don’t, check out the first thread- http://www.castleparadox.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1698&start=0
You should also check the old thread if you're not sure what each voting choice really adds to the game. Full discriptions are there.

Generic RPG can be downloaded here- http://www.castleparadox.com/forum/gamelist-display.php?game=377

So get playing, try and find all the secrets, and then vote and comment! I’d like to thank everyone for voting and commenting in the last thread. Without all of your input, Generic RPG would have already been a very different game. The initial choice for the new gimmick was going to be a pet raising system, but all of your comments and those OHRers who went out of their way to help persuade me on the gimmick that was chosen was really helpful. Have fun!

IMPORTANT- To fully enjoy this new update, start a new game! And by that I mean, if you use your old save, you probably won't even notice the changes.

Hey, you get what you voted for. I like the gimmick, and if you feel more story needs to be added, then you should probably start bugging the other voters about it. ^_^

Oh, and congrats to SilentAngel, for being the first person to find the secret catgirl porn.

I played the earlier version, so I started out as the hero. Of course, I didn't realize that this part of the game was untouched, so my progress/battles went as follows:

Spammer spammer spammer spammer worm worm equipment worm worm worm worm worm worm worm worm worm worm worm worm equipment worm worm worm worm worm equipment bossfight wtf exit

Then the demon.

Stupid hero spammer spammer spammer worm spammer worm worm worm worm town wtf exit

This could TOTALLY benefit from a length update... like, the next update should have at least an hours' worth play time. That'd be good

Hey Flamer, I was one of the few who voted for Story last time. And I am doing so again. RPGs just aren't RPGs to me without a good story.

I say you work on the battles now, or another gimmick vote.
Plot is unimportant, and I don't see any reason to vote on it. Graphics are fine.

When you play as the monster, you have 964 health in the first battle but after that you only have 50, this might need some fixing. And I think the story needs some improvement, it just stops abrubtly when things get interesting.

When you play as the monster it would be cool if another demon came and also claimed the town. Then you could fight him for it. Or mabey you discover that you were supposed to be quarding the treasure from someone else, who arrives right after you leave. He takes it and you have to get it back.

It's far too short for a story update. And who the hell is voting for gimmick again?

STOP VOTING FOR GIMMICK YOU STUPIDS! I don't want a 10 minute game that's loaded up the ass with crazy gimmicks. I want to take the cool gimmick we have and get a full length RPG with it.

And we should reserve things like music and graphics for when we're satisfied with what we have as a game.

Gilbert, I think it's time to form a voting block.

TM, you said yourself last time that everyone should vote on a gimmick the second time, too. I think that there should be another, and then we get to length or battles.

The almighty swing in how the game should be voted on this update is very interesting. Some points for posters so far.

MCW- Plot is important. At this point in the game, it would most likely enlarge the town, and give the player more people to talk to and things to do. Length updates merely extend the plot, while story updates fill it out.

Halo- The large amount of hit points and the way the monster rather crushingly defeats Hero is on purpose. Orginally, I was going to make the battle 50/50 for the monster winning, but playtesting proved the system horribly unreliable, with the Hero winning 5 out of 6 battles. Because there hasn't been a battle update, there couldn't be any strategy involved, which resulted in the player having to rely totally on luck, which I felt was stupid, so I tripled all of the Monsters stats and moved on. Perhaps in a late battle update I'll alter this.

TM, Gilbert- Excellent! I was hoping people would start banding together like this!

I voted for battles because they still suck.

Nuff said.

Why I'm not voting for battles yet:

Sure they suck, but all we have right now are some random encounters and a single boss. I'll vote for battles once we have a few more bosses to kill.

i'm just curious, who are people voting for another gimmick??
"because TM says it's best to do that"
...i'm not going even bother pulling a wisecrack for this, coz it's so obvious.

No offense to CN, but i felt that this gimmick was a bit lacking...
