Is there any way to make "Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening" type combat instead of the usual OHR combat style, you know, fighting monster NPCs by drawing you sword and hitting them? |

Heh. That's actually of the same script. Honestly, If you wanted a Zelda style game you should probably use something other than the OHR, because the OHR doesn't support very much. |

Actually, one thing I've wondered is how would you use the Zelda Attack script, yet apply health to the enemy at the same time (as opposed to James' traditional script that is designed to kill the enemy in one hit)? _________________

:flamedevil: couldn't you do a tag, so the one will be replaced when it takes the first hit, w/ another? :flamedevil: |

Global variables would do for the enemy health and hero health . |

you could just use plotscipting commands to lower the hero's current hp...
that would be simpler. Also, I think I should be able to help anyone out who wants a zelda editor:
http://www.armageddongames.com/zeldaclassic/
You can use it to edit games with graphics and gameplay mirroring bs zelda, as well as creating you're own. From my own experience it's quite good, but it takes alot of time... it also helps to learn a few of the shortcut commands, otherwise you'll find the interface a little tedious, none-the less a good editor. _________________ ~PH

Speaking of other engines...

Moogle1 once programmed an engine designed strictly for creating Zelda-style games. |

it's not really that useful. the fastest way to make a zelda-style game would probably be to use game maker (by mark overmars). _________________ Tower Defense Game |
