If I were a manga character.. this would be what I'd look like.

This picture also pretty much sums up everything I want in life, including the power to destroy the world at any given second, as well as the money to buy that kind of power. Having a neat shadowy effect like that follow me around all the time would be pretty cool too...

Free anonymizer... could this be the end of all my off-site linking problems?! Crying

*ahem*.. Oh yeah. Comment's would be nice too.[/img]

nice, I like the facial expressions and linework.

The legs are areally long, though, and the bomb could use a little work.

Yeah, the bomb's pretty vague. Pretty good picture, though.

The overall drawing is quite good. The proportions are a little off though, and his pose looks kinda weird to me.

Ah.. well... Originally I was planning for myself to lean against rows of *even* more bombs, but I got lazy. That might be why it looks like he's leaning against thin air.. To everything else, I've got nothing to say except more practice will probably fix that problem..
That's awesome. I've always liked that style of yours, which I first saw in...Idiotically Evil? I believe that's what it was called. Very nice work. Big grin

Is it just me, or does he have no butt? He looks like he's...just floating above the bomb.

So... if you were a manga character, you'd be a man of indiscernable weight, height and improper line weighting? That's odd. Wink

...in all seriousness, work on your inking well before you attempt to add arbitrary line weight. If it doesn't help make the character "pop", it's excessive and doesn't contribute to the overall quality of the render.

...I would also recommend shying away from the traditional "anime" look. I know this will offend a good many purists, but for those who are self-professed "beginners", the manga style is NOT simple. ...it's just simple to mimic with minimal technical skill, due to the simplistic forms. Do not misinterpret your ability to arguably render a figure in this style as a mastery, or let alone a positive step in your development as an artist. A true artist has the technical skill and knowledge of the subjects rendered allowing him to create in whichever style he or she decides. I'd like to use Lucier as an example. She draws (or used to, I've not seen too much of her recent work to accurately tell) predominantly manga style, but still has enough of a traditional, "boring" education level to use it properly. She's done a good many pieces in both styles, and shows herself to be an artist - and one capable of flexibility in her creations.

...This picture looks like it was drawn just for fun and a laugh to me. If you take all your art so seriously, Omerta, you won't be able to enjoy it to it's full extent. You save the seriousness for when you feel extremely inspired, not when you're drawing a cartoon for a laugh.

Perhaps I'm just too steeped in classic illustration to appreciate a "doodle". ...or perhaps I'm just one to take everything I do as a way to progress and be amused. Perhaps I'm being a bit excessive when I offer suggestions to beginning artists to help them improve. I apologize for wanting to further other people's marketability and technique. Rolling Eyes

...actually, I don't.

so are you going to throw a fit every time someone draws something in a nontraditional stlye, or can you handle letting people draw what they choose?

Did I "throw a fit"? I apologize if my critique was unwelcome. I didn't see a disclaimer regarding sugarcoating my take on it. If he wanted a sunshine enema, he could've prefaced his illustration with "NO CRITIQUE JUST COMMENT". ...actually, seeing most of the caliber of work displayed here is "just for fun", or whatnot - I'll just ignore what I'm used to and respond as I'm supposed to.

KAWAII!!! Razz Razz Razz Big grin Big grin Razz :flamedevil:
