"Winter's boring for a PI in this part of Aotearoa. You get your usual suspects, homicides, missing persons... Enough to pay the bills. Most cases are closed within a matter of days.
Been sitting all day in this office just doing paperwork when the phone rings...
Par for the course - there's a few cops gone to a small town on the west coast to investigate firearm complaints laid by some of the locals.
Only problem is, the cops haven't radioed back in nearly 24 hours. Place called Tipua, apparently it's situated in an area that blocks radio waves. Sounds fairly routine to me. I've been asked to head over there and make sure everything's ok, assist the police in their investigation while I'm at it."
