When Jeremiah is partnered up with Kitty in Computer Science class, things get ugly. The two never get along, and are always bickering. The two are pulled aside and are assigned a special project as punishment for their bickering. They are to develop a new antivirus program, or they get a failing grade for the year.
Kitty pushes the whole workload on Jeremiah, who takes the thing a step further: He creates a hendheld computer that tracks down, gathers information about, and destroys viruses. They are about to turn it in, when the thing goes haywire, and Kitty is shocked unconsious. Jeremiah notices something different about her once she wakes up, and also notices a new file in his mini computer:
